Local Ron Paul Group Rallies Outside Grand Sierra Resort

RENO, NV, August 18, 2007-- The Ron Paul Revolution came to the street outside the Grand Sierra Resort this afternoon, in an attempt to educate the public, and specifically those attending the Big Reno Show, about Congressman Ron Paul. The eight dedicated supporters camped on the side of Mill Street near the Grand Sierra Resort's entrance for over two hours and spread Ron Paul's message of peace, prosperity, and freedom to hundreds of drivers and pedestrians.

The Ron Paul supporters, many wearing T-shirts with slogans supporting Ron Paul, posted themselves where cars entering the resort turned at the stoplight. At this location, the group was also visible to traffic exiting U.S. 395 and all the traffic on Mill Street. They carried signs that read: "Ron Paul for President 2008", "Honk for Ron Paul", and "Ron Paul Revolution", as well as signs touting Ron Paul's pro-gun voting record. Over one hundred and thirty motorists honked to show support. "We think this was an important event to get the word out about Ron Paul's excellent record on the second amendment ," said Robert, assistant organizer for the local Ron Paul meet-up group.

The group also passed out flyers to passing motorists who were stopped at the stoplight. The group has had a series of rallies in the Reno/Sparks area in the past two months, in an attempt to raise name recognition for Ron Paul, as well as educate the public about Ron Paul's strong support of the U.S. Constitution, support for free market economics, personal freedoms, and his opposition to the war in Iraq.

The local Ron Paul supporters showed their dedication to Congressman Paul and his message at this rally on Saturday. By spreading the Congressman's message to hundreds of people and raising name recognition for Ron Paul, this dedicated group showed that they are the vanguard of the Ron Paul supporters in northern Nevada.
