FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Local Ron Paul Group Spreads Message of Freedom at Reno arTown

RENO, NV, July 20, 2007--- The Ron Paul Revolution is a movement growing across the country, as grassroots support for Congressman Ron Paul gains momentum. The movement has spread to Reno NV, and a dedicated group of supporters braved the sun and the wind to stand on a bridge by Wingfield Park and spread the Congressman's message of freedom, peace, and prosperity to hundreds of drivers and pedestrians.

Eleven Ron Paul supporters, many wearing T-shirts with slogans supporting Ron Paul, posted themselves on the Arlington street bridge at the southwest entrance to Wingfield Park. They carried signs that read: "Ron Paul for President 2008", "Honk for Ron Paul", and "Ron Paul Revolution". They passed out numerous flyers to pedestrians. "We're estimating about four-hundred flyers and cards, maybe four hundred fifty," said Robert Terhune, assistant organizer of the local Ron Paul Meet-Up group.

"Be informed," Carmen Antonio, one of the Ron Paul supporters, told passerby as she held out flyers. The group attempted to educate the crowd about Ron Paul, as well as about some of the issues important to the Congressman. One man in the crowd was a supporter of New Mexico Governor and Presidential candidate Bill Richardson, and stopped to talk to the Ron Paul supporters. However, after discussing some issues with Dr. Wayne Terhune, treasurer of the Ron Paul group, the man seemed very intrigued by Ron Paul's message. "I asked him if he knew about the Federal Reserve, or about the American Union and the Trans-Texas corridor," said Dr. Terhune. "He didn't know about any of those things." Ron Paul's message emphasizes personal freedom and national sovereignty.

The group's signs were visible across the street, and over fifty drivers honked to show their support. Numerous others waved or gave thumbs-up to the Ron Paul group, which believes they made a very positive impact on the city of Reno. They are planning another similar event next Friday (7/27/07) in downtown Reno. According to their Meet-Up website (http://ronpaul.meetup.com/235/), they plan to meet at Dreamer's Café at 4 p.m., and then head out onto the streets of Reno.

The local Ron Paul supporters showed their dedication to Congressman Paul and his message at this rally on Friday. By spreading the Congressman's message to hundreds of people and raising name recognition for Ron Paul, this dedicated group showed that they are the vanguard of the Ron Paul supporters in northern Nevada.
