Reno Ron Paul Group: Fourth Meeting, July 12, 2007

"Rally at Raley's"

The fourth meeting of the Nevada for Ron Paul Meetup Group was held in the events center in the Raley's Supermarket on Robb Drive. Seventeen people showed up for this event, making it the largest meeting to date.

The meeting opened with introductions, and a report from the members who had seen Ron Paul speak recently in Las Vegas.

Business: It was decided that a treasury/fund should be started to help finance the group's activities. After some debate, Dr. Wayne Terhune was appointed treasurer.

Ideas were discussed to help get Ron Paul's message out to the public. One suggestion was to hold signs at freeway on-ramps and other busy traffic areas at peak traffic times. It was agreed that "getting out in the community" by handing out flyers, etc., and engaging the public face to face was needed. To that end, a rally was organized for the next day (7/14) in downtown Reno.

Other meeting venues were discussed, including the Northwest Reno Library, and Denny's/other restaurants.

Also discussed was the importance of Ron Paul supporters becoming involved in the Republican party. Upcoming Republican events were mentioned.

The group was informed that a special about Ron Paul would be broadcast on SNCAT, the local access television station on 7/26/07.

Molly Hoffman, a reporter from the Reno News and Review, sat in on the meeting and plans to do a series of stories on the Ron Paul movement in Reno.
