Independence Day Booth: Rancho San Rafael Park, July 4, 2007

The booth was set up at Rancho San Rafael at around 11am. Thirteen members of the Ron Paul group showed up throughout the day, including some new members. It was a hot, breezy day, and traffic at the booth was slow at first. The park did not begin to fill up with people until the evening. The Ron Paul supporters passed out flyers, buttons, CD-ROMs, along with paper airplanes for the kids. By twilight, the crowd in the park had grown substantially. Thanks to the advantageous location of the booth (along the walkway where most people were entering the park) many people walked by the Ron paul booth at some point, and were engaged by the Ron Paul supporters in the booth. Over fifty CDs were passed out, as well as an unknown number of flyers and buttons. Many people had not heard of Dr. Paul, but were willing to listen and took flyers, etc. The traffic at the booth was heavier as the evening advanced. It is estimated that over a hundred people were personally engaged by the Ron Paul supporters, and many more saw the banner and posters. After the fireworks show, a few more CDs were distributed to people as they left the park. The Ron Paul supporters then packed up the booth and went home, after a long but profitable day.
